Under the guidance of their Director, Mr. Yuki Matsuda, the Made in Italy collection showcases a fusion of classic American footwear styles with the artisanal craftsmanship of a small historic Italian factory nestled in Mount Sibillini, Italy, part of the Appennines. This collection harmonizes American style, Italian artisanal construction, Yuki's Japanese sensibilities, and exceptional materials.
The uppers of the Frentaly Loafer are meticulously cut and hand-lasted using the finest full grain Palermo leather. Known for its exceptional quality, Palermo leather is often chosen for the production of exquisite leather goods. Its thickness and durability are enhanced through tumbling and embossing, resulting in a soft, uniform pattern and texture that exude luxury.
Drawing inspiration from Yuki's vintage American work boots, they incorporated a Goodyear Storm Leather Welt construction. In standard “Goodyear Welt Construction” the thick leather midsoles are welted to the outsole using a leather strip known as the "welt." The "Goodyear Storm Leather Welt" takes it a step further by incorporating a side wall, providing enhanced moisture resistance and a snug seal. While labor-intensive and time-consuming, this artisanal approach ensures superior craftsmanship, durability, comfort, and ease of resoling. The scalloped design of the storm welt not only adds to the aesthetic appeal but also aids in channeling water away from the foot, providing additional protection in wet conditions.
Completing the foundation of this exceptional loafer is the rugged yet sophisticated Vibram Rubber Sole. The Vibram sole strikes the perfect balance between durability and flexibility, allowing for comfortable and natural foot movement with each step.
