This is a luxurious offering from Omega, one of the biggest names in watchmaking: a solid 18-carat pink gold automatic dress watch in good original condition. The case is chic and minimal, elevated by clean dauphine hands and a mix of arrowhead and baton hour markers. Most contemporaneous watches were US-made from 14-carat yellow gold, which makes this Swiss-made, 18-carat, pink gold option far rarer. The chapter ring on the dial is applied in fine black print and sits more centrally than most; inside, the Omega logo is applied in pink gold, while “Automatic” and “Swiss Made” are also printed in black.
It’s powered by the brass-finished automatic caliber 501 Omega movement and keeps excellent time. The dial has a few marks, but in our opinion, it’s better to have the original, imperfections and all, as opposed to something re-finished. All in all, it’s a wonderful example of a classic vintage watch with great character.
