“Kalamkari” refers to a South Indian block printing technique that was originally used to illustrate textiles depicting the stories of sacred Indian texts, like the Mahabharata, Ramayana and Bhagavatam. Highly skilled artisans in India use hand-carved wooden blocks to manually stamp patterns in natural dyes, building a design layer by layer. Inspired by a vintage military style, our modern update to the Gurkha Trouser features a double-pleated front and an adjustable, self-belted cummerbund-style waist that’s meant to sit slightly higher than a typical pant would. The fit is relaxed through the upper section of the trouser and tailored through the leg. And for the maximalist, there’s a matching Chore Coat, too.

Love my new trousers

I’m loving my new trousers. With the heat here down South I can wear them a couple of more months this year.
