The origins of the Car Coat are in its name: it was originally long, designed to keep motorists warm in early automobiles that were open to the elements. Over time, the term became synonymous with a shorter coat, one designed to hit at mid-thigh. In short, all the style of a topcoat in a casual, easy-to-wear silhouette. Ours is in a wool blend from Bellandi, in Italy, in a soft heathered olive.

Great overcoat

Such a nice addition to the winter wardrobe. I’m 5’-7” athletic build, 42” chest, 32” waist and 170lb. I went with the small and it fits great. Enough space to fit a chunky sweater underneath but you’re not swimming in the coat if you’re just wearing a shirt. Love the green in person.
