Sperry’s founder, Paul, got the idea for the show after nearly losing his life at sea on a slippery deck; later, watching his dog dart effortlessly dash across the ice on a cold Connecticut day, he was inspired to add paw-like grooves to a rubber-soled shoe. The iconic Boat Shoe features 360° lacing for a customizable, secure fit; razor-cut Wave-Siping™ technology to trap water and increase friction for better traction; and a comfortable cork sole and EVA midsole for lightweight shock absorption. Each pair sports rawhide laces and is crafted from premium suede, sourced from Gold and Silver-rated tanneries. This slip-on has defined coastal style for decades through its supreme craftsmanship, signature technology, and iconic silhouette.
