This smart shirt jacket takes its name from the U.S. Navy’s Chief Petty Officers (or CPOs), to whom it was issued in the 1930s. A classic layer with practical beginnings, it’s become a menswear staple thanks to its versatility. Our take is crafted from premium English wool and canvas ventile. The slightly oversized fit works well over everything from a tee or crewneck to a hoodie or sweater. Additional details include a chest pocket, adjustable cuffs, and an orange locker loop at the interior of the neck.
This piece is part of a collaboration between Todd Snyder and Private White V.C., one of England’s most venerable outfitters and beloved by royalty, rock stars, athletes and actors alike. They handcraft every garment in Manchester’s last remaining clothing factory, a red-bricked building on the banks of the River Irwell, where they’ve been based since 1853.
