Batten down. Inspired by vintage puffers, the name of the game here is luxurious utility. This short puffer is made from a unique ripstop fabric crafted in collaboration with Impresa Tessile, in a tie-dyed glacier print. Ripstop is a military innovation, often used in uniforms and parachutes — it’s woven using a special technique that creates a fine crosshatch pattern, making it both lightweight and incredibly resistant to tearing. The down filling will keep you warm and toasty during the depths of winter. This practical piece is also loaded with functional details: a hidden 2-way zipper, plenty of pockets, plus Velcro cuffs and a full hood with a cowl to block out the elements.
Woolrich has been part of the fabric of the American outdoor lifestyle for nearly 200 years; the company provided blankets to Union soldiers during the Civil War and designed the Arctic Parka that kept Admiral Richard E. Byrd warm on Antarctic expeditions. Now, as Creative Director of Woolrich’s Black Label, Todd has designed a collection of rugged yet luxurious takes on the brand’s iconic styles that marry Woolrich’s innovative technical fabrics with sartorial flourishes.
