Introducing:

The Drake’s x TS Capsule

We partnered with one of our favorite British heritage brands on a remix of fall’s greatest hits–chore coats, chunky cardigans, corduroy work shirts and knit ties.

We think of Drake’s as our brother from another mother–albeit a British one who is a master at creating timeless pieces that have a relaxed elegance to them. “They were the first outside brand we carried,” says Todd. “For this capsule we wanted to create an England–meets–New England look. So their chunky, Scottish shawl collar cardigan turns up in collegiate colors...our American chore coat in their buttery, imported suede.”

Drake’s was founded in 1977 in London’s East End by Michael Drake, producing scarves ties and pocket squares for which the brand became known. His vision still informs Drake’s to this day. And under Creative Director Michael Hill, they continue to combine a love of craftsmanship with eclectic design. Can you see why we get along? We asked our mutual friend, author David Coggins, the author of Men and Style.to take the Drake’s x TS capsule for a test ride.
He’s no stranger to the two brands. Years ago after a night of martinis with Michael Hill at Duke’s in London (which is one of the great places to have a martini in London), David discovered that he had promised to launch a magazine called Common Thread for Drake’s, and continues to pop up in their Instagram feed as part of a gathering of bon vivants. He’s no stranger to us having written for our style guides.

“Todd is a great American designer, and Drake’s exists in a more continental world, but they both understand how men want to dress,” says Coggins of the two brands. As for how to put a look together from a Patchwork Suede Chore Coat, Corduroy Shirt and Knit Tie, Coggins says,"Texture is criminally-overlooked by most men, and fall is Texture Season. Wear what you want to wear, but add some texture. Try a corduroy shirt with a knit tie and a suede chore coat."
