Substantial Pants
These are heavy pants. The weight gives them structure and drape but if you're looking for super light linen pants these are likely not for you.
I think the size guide was spot on but, as another reviewer mentioned, the pants were very long so you'll likely need to have them altered. I often have to have pants shortened by an inch or so but these were impossibly long. I didn't measure but the inseam seemed more like 36" than 32". It is possible that, while I ordered an XL I may have gotten an XL Tall, which has a 34" inseam. FWIW I got the Iron and the color would be a perfect darker brown for a safari.
