A modern take on the classic cable knit wool sweater. This chic cardigan is knit from a blend of breathable merino, lightweight nylon and soft alpaca — in other words, it’s cozy, but not scratchy or heavy. It’s also a Donegal, a technique named for the county in Ireland where it originated, wherein small pieces of yarn in different colors are woven in at random to create a heathered effect. The traditional cable stitch is simplified here into a scaled-up herringbone for a sculptural update on this cold-weather icon.
