When people ask Todd why he wanted to open his first store in Nashville, he responds, “The answer is simple. Guys like to dress well here. They get it, and what I look for in new cities for our stores are places where people interpret fashion in really unique ways.” And sure enough, America’s leading menswear designer received a crash course in how these Southern sartorialists wear his clothes at an intimate dinner co-hosted by musician Jason Isbell and architect Nick Dryden, who generously offered up his design studio and vast vinyl collection for the night.
Isbell looked as elegant in our Italian Seersucker Suit as the lyrics on his new acoustic album, Foxes In The Snow. And there were an additional 5 Grammy-award winners in attendance, with a guest list that included Country Music Hall of Famer Marty Stuart plus Karen Fairchild and Jimi Westbrook of Little Big Town, Ketch Secor of Old Crow Medicine Show, and Nathan Followill from Kings of Leon. No one had to sing for their supper, though, as Josh Habiger — the famed chef behind local hotspot Bastion — served up a four-course dinner featuring crab eclairs, strawberry salads, and Bear Creek Tomahawk Steaks with Alabama White Bearnaise.
After a day of vintage shopping at Eneby Home, High Class Hillbilly, Grimey’s Records and a fortifying “meat-and-three” at Arnold’s Country Kitchen, Todd officially opened our new store at 12 South with a bash for friends, customers and local tastemakers. The 2,700-square-foot space merged the relaxed warmth and hospitality of the South with British touches. At the heart of the store is a custom marble fireplace complemented by chocolate mohair and burlwood deco chairs, with original artwork from Ryan McMenamy. In addition to the award-winning Todd Snyder collection, the store highlights a carefully chosen array of best-in-class brands from around the world, including Nashville-based Weiss Watches, Rubinacci loafers, New Balance, and vintage luxury timepieces and jewelry in collaboration with Foundwell.
At the party, Attaboy served up signature cocktails; Russ Pollard deejayed and Todd toasted artist Richard Haines, whose drawings of our Spring-Summer ‘25 Runway show were transformed by local sign painters into a mural on the exterior of the store. Said Todd, “It means so much to have Richard Haines here. We’ve known each other for 20 years, and I probably own at least 20 of his works. So his art seemed like the perfect way for us to tip our hat to Nashville’s tradition of murals, but in a style that was authentic to who we are.”
