Say hello to your new do-anything, go-anywhere jacket. The cruiser takes its name from the term “timber cruiser,” which referred to the workers who would scout forests ahead of logging crews. It was popular for being lightweight but tough, and waterproof enough to stave off the wet weather of the Pacific Northwest, where most of the timber cruisers worked. Our take on this classic style features a sturdy, waxed cotton fabric from British Millerain, who supplied the materials for some of those first jackets over a century ago. It features plenty of pockets (four at the front, two inside, and a “game pocket” at the back) and a soft, corduroy-lined collar. The fuller fit is perfect over a chunky sweater or turtleneck.

Lightweight, weatherproof, looks great with the collar up or down. I’m taking mine to a tailor to get a belt/belt loops made to pull the waist in as it is a little bit boxy. Perfect replacement for my worn out Barbour.
