Limited Edition: Our denim comes in distinct categories (Stretch, Selvedge and Small Batch), for the same reason that sometimes you want an artisanal sipping whiskey, and others a draft beer. The Made in USA Selvedge is our most premium jean, what we call Small Batch Denim. Created in partnership with denim guru Eric Goldstein, whose credits include Jean Shop and RRL, it’s woven at Vidalia Mills in Vidalia, Louisiana.
Vidalia is quickly becoming famous among aficionados for its “farm-to-yarn” denim as the cotton is locally grown, then woven on Vidalia's Draper looms, many of which were acquired from the late mythic White Oak Plant in Greensboro, North Carolina. It takes about two hours for each of these machines to weave enough fabric for one pair of jeans. The denim is cut and sewn in Los Angeles.
Design details include a single chest pocket, two hand pockets whose design is inspired by workwear from the 1940s, side tab adjusters at the back waist. There’s alsotrapunto stitching on the underside of the neck, which keeps it from wearing out over time and is a technique more commonly found on outerwear or quilts.
The Rigid denim is a dark, rugged fabric originally created for hard labor. It will be a little stiff when you first wear it, but it will mold to your body and loosen up overtime. Or as Goldstein says, “You’ve got to earn that fit.”
I love this jacket and haven't even worn it yet. The look, fit, style is crazy! Do yourself a favor and invest in this denim jacket, a MUST for any man's wardrobe...FACTS!
Absolutely love this fit on this jacket. I’m 6’2, slim but broad shouldered and a large was perfect for me. It’s only been a week so I’m still working on breaking it in
High quality denim and a good fit. I find that denim jackets tend to run too short on me (6 ft 0 in) but the large fits perfect.
Love my denim jacket! I do miss the older style, which is the one with a single chest pocket on one side. One tip I have to give to people who consider buying this. If you’re in between sizes and have a fairly slim build. I recommend sizing down. I have a medium size of this jacket with the single pocket and the sleeves and the back end where the lower back arches is longer and baggier. So for this new jacket I bought I got a size small and it fits me great! Btw my height is 5’9’’3/4 and weight 142lbs for context. Also, when washing the jacket don’t ever put in a dryer! It’ll leave the fabric to stick out like cotton fibers. Overall I highly recommend the jacket! Just do a little bit of research for taking care of it.
After great anticipation and anxiety over whether it would fit great...had the tag off 10 seconds after trying on! Fit was perfect, the right sleeve length and fit at the shoulders. Fits true to size and consider myself to be a nominal large build. Which in current jacket trends means occasionally a return for medium. One disappointment with delivery carrier- delivered 6 days after original estimated delivery date, and 4 days after it was on the truck out for delivery...though not damaged, so happy nonetheless! No need to mention names here! Looking forward to the long term experience of wearing this jacket. I really like the indigo color as well as the whole pocket arrangement and design style!
