        This sweater is the definition of what Todd calls a “luxe essential,” a go-to that he’s refreshed with an elevated fabric, neutral palette, and sophisticated design details. In this particular case, it’s made from a wonderfully soft cashmere yarn in a relatively dense 12-gauge knit. Inspired by vintage athletic styles, the gray heather and cream stripes echo classic collegiate sweats. The timeless crewneck silhouette is complemented by traditional sweatshirt details like a double-layered hem and cuffs and a ribbed “dorito” at the neck.

        The sweaters in La Buena Vida are all inspired by mid-century styles, layering in different old-school details: an extra tab closure at the hem, tapered waists, extended collars, vintage-inspired patterns, and more.

          This sweater is beautifully deigned and made, with a substantial texture and hand. It looks and feels “luxe.” It does run large; I went down a size and the fit is perfect.
