Following close behind tweed, cord and flannel in the fall classics lineup: the cable knit wool sweater. The fairly thick stitch, which was introduced in Ireland in the early 20th century, was a favorite of fishermen for the warmth it provided. It soon started popping up in sportswear on cricket, tennis and golf sweaters, before eventually becoming an Ivy League wardrobe staple by the 60s. Here, the classic gets a refresh in rich colors made for the season and a soft lambswool yarn. Get your fave, or get them all and consider your sweater setup sorted.

Beautiful color that's surprisingly subdued when worn. Fit is similar to early 2000s J. Crew with a little longer sleeves. Really happy with the purchase.
