Todd Snyder X John Derian X Vans Authentic Coral Sneaker

Born in Anaheim, CA  Vans got its start making quality shoes in 1966, and the Authentic is their original, heritage style: a classic lace-up shoe with throwback details. The eye-catching blue coral pattern printed on canvas was pulled from the endpapers of a 19th-century natural history book from John Derian’s collection. Exclusive to Todd Snyder, they come packed in a custom box featuring a scenic wave print. 

This piece is part of a limited-edition capsule collection created by Todd Snyder and artist John Derian. The seaside-themed summer styles are all based on rare 18th- and 19th-century prints from Derian’s archive. “When John and I got together to design our second collection, [he] was talking about his store in Provincetown, MA,” says Snyder. “This Derian-at-the beach direction really appealed to me, and so we started looking at antique prints of harbor scenes and marine life.”
