Vans is an American manufacturer of skateboarding shoes and related apparel and was started in Anaheim, California in 1966. Brothers Paul Van Doren and Jim Van Doren along with partners Gordon Lee and Serge Delia open The Van Doren Rubber Company and create the first pair of #44 Deck shoes, also known as "The Authentic."
