The result is a chore coat that can play equally well with a dress shirt and knit tie or add polish over a flannel, hoodie or crew neck.
i gave this jacket a lot of consideration and waited to purchase it before finally pulling the trigger. i am 5’10” and the medium is perfect. i am so pleased with this jacket!
This is a well made coat tailored in China. The wool is of a good quality with a thick pile indicative to the coats purpose which is to look good on the person and to keep us warm which it does. I was hesitant about the sizing in the overview so I contacted customer service. They contacted me within a couple hours with additional measurements. I am 6-4 and 240-245. The fit was an XL as the overview sizing chart stated. I got the coat and it fit quite nicely. Now the jacket is a snug fit which is very tailored and as I prefer. A light sweater is what I wear underneath. If you want more room try the next size up. But this is not a criticism just my tailoring preference. If you like this type of coat it would be worth considering.
One thing I wasn't certain of based on the photos was would this lean toward a 'thin' overshirt or a 'heftier' coat. Turns out it's heftier and certainly a coat -- as described. The coat has a little weight to it and for me (6'1, 215 lbs) a Large was a great fit. With the thickness of the wool, if I really wanted a better range of motion I'd probably have had to size up, but that wouldn't be worth it given how good the rest of the proportions are. The color is great and goes with almost anything. The nappy/hairy texture of the wool gives it a lived-in look that's sharp without drawing too much attention. I wasn't disappointed after holding it in-hand and trying it on. Should get a lot of wear.
This is a beautiful jacket. Very unique. Comfortable and stylish.
This piece looks good dressed down or up. It's stylish but not flashy. The Large was a perfect fit at 6', 190 LBS.
