Slim Fit Lightweight Japanese Selvedge Denim in Light Charcoal

I purchased these for a spring break trip to Santa Monica from Washington, D.C. The jeans were a perfect weight for warmer weather while still retaining the slightly rough selvedge denim feel. The sublet green tint of the thread on the canvas color adds a sophisticated touch. I purchased in my normal size as per other buyers' recommendations in the review section and they fit perfectly - I would definitely ignore the recommendation to go up a size. The jeans are a true slim fit and have all the details of other Todd Snyder selvedge denim. I can also report that they are fully sanforized and suffered NO shrinkage in the waist or inseam after a cold water wash and hang dry, that is very unusual, but really appreciated with sanforized selvedge denim. If I did not already have 3 other pairs of Todd Snyder selvedge, 3 pairs of RGT selvedge, and 3 pairs of Levis 501 selvedge, I would buy another pair, especially appealing in gray.

This review is on the Light Charcoal color. The stitching seems to be on the weaker side - the thread is thinner and looser compare to other three small batch pairs I have from the previous years (canvas, raw and riverside). Especially looking from inside. Especially noticeable on the top of the back pockets (inside), on the coin/watch pocket on the front and, actually here and there everywhere (looking from inside!). The length is also inconsistent - they are WAY longer than the same length (30") other small batch jeans. I kept these jeans as I still like the overall fit, look and material. These jeans are made in Vietnam costing $268(!!!). Well, I would expect an exceptional quality for this money .... and made in the US. ? Do I recommend these jeans? Yes, if you can lower your expectations on the quality of almost $300 jeans and don't consider this purchase as an "investment in a high quality denim" that you will be wearing for years. Still can be a nice showoff this summer.

Nice selvedge material but the slim fit isn’t right for me. I am an average 32/30 kind of a guy, but am 49 y/o with muscular thighs and glutes. Couldn’t pull these up and not to mention no space for everything else.

I have both the indigo and white wash colors it's important to note the white is not 100 percent cotton as is the indigo. And more importantly the fit is different. The white is slimmer with a more tapered fit from the thigh through the calves. The indigo is not although I consider it a true slim. I much prefer the white at 6'1 170.

Both are beautiful jeans but the differences are quite noticeable and need to be pointed out. The white is also a much stiffer denim for some reason. Five stars for both but certainly not the 'same' jeans.

I have been looking for the perfect cream jean for almost a year, and I finally found them. The color is the perfect shade I was looking for and the fit is great. I am usually a 29 but bought a 30 because I wanted the jeans to be a little loose. Note these jeans will stretch out a little so buy your true size for a tailored fit.
