Inis Meáin’s Boatbuilder Turtleneck has a ribbed pattern and a raglan shoulder that was originally designed for warmth and flexibility while fishing or boat-building during the off-season. The sweater has a high, roll neck for warmth. Wear it on its own with wool or corduroy or denim trousers. Slide it under a topcoat when the weather turns frigid.
Inis Meáin is one of the three Aran Islands that lie thirty miles off the western shore of Ireland. It’s a place of wild and rugged beauty where fishermen’s garments have been designed, knitted and woven by their families for centuries. Inspired by this unique spirit, Tarlach de Blácam and Áine Ní Chonghaile founded the Inis Meáin Knitting Company in 1976.
