Still a terrific shoe, but the snuff suede isn’t quite as light as it appears in the photos, so the contrast between the two tones isn’t as noticeable as I had hoped it would be.

note the description says "runs a half size large, we recommend ordering a half size smaller than your normal u.s. size" - this is exactly what i did and the fit lengthwise was good but the strap that goes across the top of your foot was insanely tight. i found some shoe stretchers on amazon that had a few different parameters (could stretch either length or width or both) and i used these overnight doing the width only. after 24 hours i took the stretchers out and put them on and saw an improvement but still discomfort (i couldnt originally wear them for the first occasion they were purchased for, but that is all good). then i popped the stretcher back in again and used a shoehorn to wedge a little something in the particular area where it was very tight on the top of my foot, leaving it in there with the shoe stretcher for another 24 hours. after that, they're perfect. you may want to have some blister kit type stuff if these fit awkwardly on your feet and plan in advance for some break-in time before you wear them for a long day. but the shoes themselves are absolutely gorgeous. i will say i think more of a pinkish hue comes through in the photos on the site than they have in person but these are exactly what i wanted/needed. good stuff. 5 stars. just calling out this stuff for anyone on the fence because it obviously is a pricier item/investment and i couldn't find much info on what peoples experience was with the half-size down instructions. but all that considered,…
Color darker than anticipated making the contrast between the shoe and the bridge not as noticeable.
Ordered twice in milkshake , hoping poor quality of the 1st pair was anomaly. Unfortunately, while better, still nowhere near quality of construction I’ve come to expect from Alden.
