The quintessential old-school crewneck, made from a breathable French terry that’s both soft and sturdy. Classic details include the traditional “Dorito” at the neck, cover stitched seams, and side panels for stretch and easy movement. The eye-catching crab print on the front is pulled from a 1768 French natural history by Thérèse Martinet. It’s bound to make an excellent conversation starter at the pool, beach, or bar this summer.
This piece is part of a limited-edition capsule collection created by Todd Snyder and artist John Derian. The seaside-themed summer styles are all based on rare 18th- and 19th-century prints from Derian’s archive. “When John and I got together to design our second collection, [he] was talking about his store in Provincetown, MA,” says Snyder. “This Derian-at-the beach direction really appealed to me, and so we started looking at antique prints of harbor scenes and marine life.”
