For the latest style in his long-running collaboration with New Era, Todd Snyder took the silhouette of New Era’s 59Fifty Adjustable Hat and partnered with British Millerain, the old-school makers of the waxed cotton fabric, to create a Yankee cap that would look equally at home on the 4 train headed to Opening Day as it would in the mists of Scotland on the Glorious Twelfth (it’s a thing).
British Millerain textiles are crafted in England, using skills handed down through six generations of the Miller Family and over a century of innovation. Established in 1880, they pioneered the development of waxed cotton. Through the 1900s, demand for Millerain waxed cotton grew globally, as industry-leading brands recognized the unique aesthetic appeal and weather-resistant properties of their fabrics. With more than a century of investment, they continue to innovate and develop novel textiles to meet the ever-changing demands of the apparel industry.
This unique capsule collection utilizes these storied fabrics to create three eye-catching styles in signature British Millerain’s Staywax dry waxed cotton. Staywax has a low oil content and dry handle and is machine washable. Unlike traditional waxed cottons, Staywax does not transfer and therefore does not need to be lined, allowing more freedom in design.
