Made from Italian nylon, the Racer Jacket combines the body of a windbreaker with a collar that’s borrowed from a European style of motorcycle jacket known as a “cafe racer.” These jackets acquired their nickname because it was not uncommon for drivers to wear them when they were driving at high speeds from one cafe to another. The style had a moment in the Eighties and like many things from that era was overdone. This is a really useful piece of outerwear during transitional months as it can be worn over a sweater when it’s chilly and then tossed over a tee or polo when things warm up.
Love the fabric and fit.
Feels good like an old barracuda, perfect for cool weather - only issue is the zipper could pull a little cleaner.
Have not worn yet but, will be traveling to Oregon and seems like a versatile and comfortable jacket whether with a tee on a warm day or even with a sweatshirt on a cool evening.
