Todd has partnered with the arbiter of Ivy League style to create a modern twist on the classics including The Duffel Coat, The Sack Blazer and The Shaggy Dog® sweater. “J. Press has always been a little under the radar, which makes them cool,” says Todd. “So we took some of their iconic pieces and gave them a little attitude.” J. Pressʼs version of a Shetland sweater known as a “Shaggy Dog®” is still made in Scotland from a wool that’s brushed for a unique, fuzzy texture. This style was an off-duty favorite of both President John F. Kennedy and actor Cary Grant. Todd kept everything we love about the style and then reworked it in this turtleneck body. The stripes are meant to be a nod to the colorful patterns of schoolboy scarves, oarsmen’s blazers and rugby shirts and other vintage Ivy League styles. The wool is double-brushed. The sweater has a saddle shoulder, and the stripes continue on the back. This sweater will look great under a sportcoat, on its own or layered under a topcoat. It’s also an easy way to dress up a pair of sweats.
