Todd has partnered with the arbiter of Ivy League style to create a modern twist on the classics including The Duffel Coat, The Sack Suit and The Shaggy Dog® Sweater. “J. Press has always been a little under the radar, which makes them cool,” says Todd. “So we took some of their iconic pieces and gave them a little attitude.” With The Boxy Chino, Todd wanted to create a homage to the fully-blown out trouser that was a workhorse of the prep uniform in the Sixties, Seventies and Eighties. The result is a super-wearable and on-trend chino. To recreate the soft yet rugged handfeel, our design team took a Japanese military twill and had it heavily stone washed. Todd added the bulldog critter as a nod to J. Press’ symbiotic relationship with Yale. The store was founded in New Haven and has long made merchandise with the school’s mascot, Handsome Dan, on its neckties, belts and here a chino.
