Inspired by vintage workwear, this chore-coat-meets-sport-coat is both rugged and refined. It’s crafted from a soft, winter-ready Italian corduroy, which has just a little bit of stretch to it for total comfort and easy movement. It features ample pockets (four in total), our classic olive lining and genuine horn buttons — and under the collar, a zig-zag stitching detail. It’s a versatile layer you can throw on over a long-sleeved tee on sunny days, or wear fully closed up over a sweater when temps start to drop. We also like it paired with the matching pants for a relaxed, chic take on a suit.Duca Visconti is a famed Italian mill in the foothills of the alps that’s been making corduroy, velvet and other exceptionally well-crafted fabrics for nearly 200 years.

Top quality with a wonderful fit

Top quality fabric. Very soft, yet substantial. Wonderful stitching and buttons. Cut is a bit more tailored than the chore coats, in a very good way. I’m hoping for more colors: browns, greens.

How to Dress Well

I've turned into a TS mannequin. Recent acquisitions include four linen and two seersucker shirts. I live in Florida, and because of TS I have discovered that these are the fabrics for the tropics. Trash the polyester t-shirts.

I face two problems with TS clothes. Maybe you face them. The first is how to fit these very special clothes into my humble life. I wrote about this in another TS review. As I said there, "Sprezzatura's the key." That's right! Sprezzatura. Don't know what that means? Google it. You need this word. Don't miss the Baldassare Castiglione part.

The second is that I'm the kind of guy who has many nice clothes but always wears the same thing. I'm working on rotating. Send the tried and true to the back of the closet. Get out of the comfort zone.

The garment in question is the professor jacket. Beautiful, well made, essential, downright inspiring. Versatile. Hit the dive bar in it with my low life friends. It worked. But sometimes my life is elegant. Next stop for the jacket is the Sarasota Opera. Don Giovanni. Calls for extra Sprezzatura. I'm ready.

Gorgeous but…

I returned it. Didn’t look right on me. That said, the construction and materials are unassailable. Heirloom quality. I just couldn’t pull it off.

Thin but nice

Loved the look and it is thin enough to wear it most times of the year. I normally go between a large and medium. I went with medium and it fits perfect. I weigh 198 lbs and 5’ 11” and average build.
