Italian Suede Cafe Racer in Brown

Please note: All sales final for this item.

As the Brando-esque biker jacket is to America, the Cafe Racer is to England. Developed in the late 1950s and marketed initially under names like Racing Shirt, the Cafe Racer didn’t really take off until the Sixties when the stripped-down motorcycles of the same name became popular among the youth subculture known as Rockers. The original jackets were often made of heavy materials like horsehide to protect the rider when they put their bike down. Ours takes the classic aerodynamic lines of a Cafe Racer and gives the jacket a luxe upgrade in a sturdy yet soft-to-the-touch, Italian calf suede. Authentic details include zippers at the cuffs to keep the wind out, a mandarin-style collar with a button closure, two lower welt pockets and a single zip-closure chest pocket. This is rugged enough to add some edge to a turtleneck and dress pants yet polished enough to add some continental cool to denim and a tee.
