The Car Coat originally entered the menswear landscape as a long overcoat that was designed to keep motorists warm when driving in early automobiles that were open to the elements. Over time, the term became synonymous with a shorter coat, one designed to hit at mid-thigh. Our is a tailored coat that has been designed to hit at mid-thigh. It has a box-quilted nylon lining for warmth. The exterior is a wool houndstooth fabric that’s imported from Italy. Design details include a single-breasted front, notched lapels, two welt-style hand pockets and cuff adjusters. The details combine to create a chic, tailored and modern take on a topcoat that looks equally sharp over a blazer or dressed down with a hoodie.
