Please note: All sales final for this item.

As part of his tenth anniversary celebration, Todd Snyder has partnered with some of his favorite long-running collaborators to design fresh takes on classic styles. Now, just in time for beach season, he’s created an exclusive capsule with Birdwell. In Snyder’s hands Birdwell’s 310 Board Short gets a modern refresh in sun-faded colors and an on-trend length meant to hit at mid-thigh. Like all of the company’s swim trunks, each pair is cut from Birdwell proprietary SurfNyl™️ fabric and includes a simple button fly and a tab closure for an adjustable fit. The shorts are sewn by expert craftspeople at their Santa Ana, California factory almost exactly as they were sixty years ago when Carrie Birdwell Mann sold her first pair.

The capsule includes one Woodland Camo pattern and four colors (Navy, Aqua, Paprika and Yellow). The silhouette of the shorts are based on Birdwell’s 310 body which holds closest to Ms. Birdwell’s original design but in a shorter length. This style is slightly modernized and to reflect over more than 50 years of field testing by lifeguards and surfers who depend on their Birdies to last a lifetime of waves. The shorts in this capsule are stonewashed, so they look and feel broken in from the first wear.

  • Triple lace closure with nickel plated grommets and nylon drawcord
  • Birdie woven label on center back of waistband
  • Surf wax pocket (on the back) with key loop and interior drain hole
  • Button fly with clear buttons.
  • Stone-washed for a sun-faded look and broken-in feel
  • Double-and triple-stitched seams for durability
  • Made in the USA
  • *Sizing Recommendation: We recommended sizing up one size from your normal waist size as Birdwell board shorts run slightly smaller than a normal Todd Snyder fit*

40 years ago I had a first pair of Birdies, and for whatever reason they’d stayed off my radar until TS’ version surfaced - they went with me to Greece in August, and so long as I can manage not to add more ‘rona weight, they’ll see a lot more sand and sea. Only wish they were reversible to the orange color!

Super snug

Snug and run way smaller than expected by at least two sizes. I’m a 31 and can’t even squeeze in a 30.
