Just as the first cool, crisp days of fall have us craving comfort food, our design team also knows we’ll be craving comfort clothes--corduroy, cashmere, flannels, workwear and Champion sweats. The inspirations for the season are classic styles worn by outdoorsmen, but reinvented for the modern adventurer. (And these days, even the morning coffee run can feel like an adventure, right?). Consider the following a compass that will help you look great as you navigate the New Casual.
The shade of orange that appears on outdoorsmen’s clothing is known as Blaze, and it is the color of the season. It runs through some of our most important styles — new Quilted Liner Jackets, Popover Hoodies, Corduroy Western Shirts and Striped Crewnecks. Afterall, someone’s got to start the conversation. It might as well be your top.
Among our favorite comfort fabrics is corduroy. Ours is a soft Italian one that comes in several different wales (i.e the space between the ridges). You’ll see it in our new Pleated Corduroy Pants, our Classic 5 Pocket Cords and our Cord Shirt Jackets.
In keeping with the theme of The Outdoorsman, the Buffalo checks that appear on flannel shirts found themselves turning up even in our most tailored pieces.
A wise man once told us, “Your outerwear in New York is like your car in L.A.” When the weather turns cold, it is the first thing people will see about you. It is also an easy way to add style to whatver you’re wearing––be it joggers, denim or dress pants—particularly if you’re not feeling your sportcoat right now.
