I've been wearing old Authentics for years, but this colorway is probably my favorite of all time. Only knock? The heel is stiff and takes some time to soften up, so if you're going sans-socks. Wear socks to break them in, or pack blister pads!
Good canvas shoe with great arch support
I love the look of these shoes, but the first time I wore them for real [walking extensively around Chicago] I started hearing an unpleasant sound...somewhat of a clicking. I thought the floor in my hotel room was creaking, but it was the shoe...specifically, my left shoe. As I explored more, I found out that the bottom of the sole had de-laminated from the layer above it and was making this noise each time I stepped. This is the second item in my order that seems to be suffering from poor construction and a lack of oversight.
The Authentic is something I wore my entire life as a native Southern Californian. Finding this pair, with its subtle details harkening back to their first ever design, was a delight. I can't stop wearing them, and the compliments won't stop either. Get 'em in every color.
