Todd loves all the categories he designs equally, but he has a soft spot in his heart for outerwear. Creating a beautiful coat demands combining elements of military dress with classical tailoring so that the wearer stays warm and dry while looking stylish. The Green Plaid Peacoat is the epitome of all that. The double-breasted silhouette is based on the classic navy reefer jacket from a century ago. Back then, the peacoat wasn’t just a ruggedly cool piece of outerwear, it was cutting edge technology. The large lapels popped up and could be closed with a throat latch to seal a mariner in from the elements. Todd has kept all these old-school elements and then given our peacoat a luxe upgrade in a dark green corduroy that comes to us Italy. The corduroy is bonded, meaning it has been coated to hold its own against the element. Design details include two flap pockets at the wearer’s waist and then two slanted, hand-warmer pockets closer to the chest. There are eight horn buttons on the front, a Bemberg lining with piped seams on the interior, and tabs at the sleeves that allow the wearer to adjust the aperture of the cuffs.
