The origins of the Car Coat are in its name: it was originally long, designed to keep motorists warm in early automobiles that were open to the elements. Over time, the term became synonymous with a shorter coat, one designed to hit at mid-thigh — ours goes a little shorter still, falling just below the waist. A bestseller last year, it’s back for the season in an Italian wool blend, a gray herringbone with a rugged look and feel. Love the coat. Soft and warm. I’m 6-1 and 175# and large fits great over a sweater. It may be Italian wool but the tag clearly says “made in Portugal”,
This is a fabulous coat. So soft and cozy. You feel like a million bucks in this. I wore it out the other night and everyone was complimenting me on it. You just won't see another coat like this.
This jacket is very soft and seems well made but it's also very light. This is a jacket at best. The reviewer that said it feels like a bathroom is pretty spot on. Had to return because I'm looking for something heavier. If you're looking for a lighter jacket, this will easily do.
