The latest installment in our ongoing collaboration with the great American outfitter includes hats, sweaters, coats, boots, bags and blankets all inspired by a Maine Hunting Coat from 1937 that Todd discovered in the L.L. Bean archives. It’s called The Heritage Plaid Collection. Here, the red and black check pattern of the hunting coat shows up on the silhouette on an Ebbets Field baseball cap. The fabric is an imported Italian wool, the “LLB” initials are an applique felt patch, a nod to the sort of throwback patches that once appeared on varsity letterman sweaters. Ebbets Field pride themselves on making their hats the old-fashioned way, and these are Made in The USA.
