Todd, a longtime L.L. Bean collector and fan, chose some of the most iconic pieces from the L.L. Bean Archives, then reinvented them with a modern sensibility, premium materials and a tailored fit.

The latest installment in our ongoing collaboration with the great American outfitter includes hats, sweaters, coats, boots, bags and blankets all inspired by a Maine Hunting Coat from 1937 that Todd discovered in the L.L. Bean archives. Here, the red and black pattern shows up in this limited-edition of the iconic Bean boot. The boot’s upper is wool from Pendelton criss-crossed by black leather straps, while the bottom is thesame iconic rubber chain-tread as the original 1912 Bean Boot.

I was surprised when I received these boots that they do not have any lining inside other than fabric directly adhered to the inside of the rubber material and nor did they have a pull tab in the back of the boot to help with pulling the boot on your foot. Being this is a very fitted style on the calf portion it makes it even more imperative that you should have a method of helping to pull the boot on your foot. Given the boot has no lining I would recommend ordering a size that allows for thick socks for warm in the snow.
