Todd has partnered with the arbiter of Ivy League style to create a modern twist on the classics including The Duffel Coat, The Sack Suit and The Shaggy Dog® Sweater. “J. Press has always been a little under the radar, which makes them cool,” says Todd. “So we took some of their iconic pieces and gave them a little attitude.” Here, the traditional tweed topcoat gets a refresh. The key attributes of the silhouette are raglan sleeves (unstructured), a fly-button front, a Prussian collar (it resembles a men’s shirt more than a suit lapel) and a slightly slouchy fit. The fabric is a wool-cashmere blend that comes to us from England. (The Glen Plaid pattern is sometimes called Prince of Wales check after the British royal who popularized it, but the “Glen '' refers to the Glenurquhart Valley in Scotland where the tweed was first developed in the 19th Century.) But under Todd’s 21st Century guidance this toasty topcoat picks up somenew sartorial tricks including a ticket pocket, a throat latch closure and a Bemberg lining in a camo pattern.
