Somewhere between outerwear and sports jackets lies the “third piece.” Aliases include The Shirt Jacket and our popular Chore Coat, which makes the scene for fall in this luxe Italian corduroy. The silhouette, based on a vintage French worker’s jacket known as ableu de travail, features two large patch pockets, a single chest pocket and working buttons on the cuffs. The buttons are genuine horn, and the cord is medium wale. There is a single interior pocket for your cell phone or wallet, and a locker loop on the back so you can easily hang it on your designated peg after a walk through the fields (or streets) to your local pub (or bar). Layer it over a denim shirt, an oxford or a cashmere crewneck, and you can’t go wrong.
This is easily the best corduroy chore coat I've tried. Weight is heavy and the coat feels substantial, and the sleeve lining really takes it up a notch. Fit was TTS for me.
