TEAM TS:

How We Wear Coats

T here’s no single “right” way to do outerwear, as our colleagues more than proved when we asked a few of them to style their favorite pieces from the new fall collection. See how Team TS is wearing everything from Topcoats to Walking Jackets, get a few styling tips…and maybe pick up a new favorite fall movie or drink rec too, while you’re at it.

Wes - Production
Wears The Italian Wool Walking Jacket in Cream Herringbone

Walt Frazier is my coat icon.

Michael - PR & Partnerships
Wears The Cashmere Belted Overcoat in Charcoal

Coat icons? Richard Gere perhaps, and Jenna Lyons...an ultimate outerwear and style icon.

My personal style is rooted in prep, with a little bit of a twist. Outerwear and sweaters are my favorite part of getting dressed in the fall. Anytime you can layer is just a lovely lovely time of the year.
Taylor - Merchant
Wears The Shearling Chore Jacket in Brown

I feel like I get a lot of style inspiration from movies. Lately, I’ve very much been dressing like Dennis Hopper.

I like the chocolate color of this shearling coat and its aviator, military-inspired vibe. I’ve been using the pockets a lot…they’re very spacious; a small novella could fit in one of them.
Sora - Merchant
Wears The Belted Balmacaan in Black

My biggest inspiration is my dad. He likes to layer and wears a lot of cool pieces; I try to channel him a little bit every day.

Lindsay - Executive Assistant
Wears The Italian Wool Topcoat in Sea Green

You can’t get away from a jewel tone as a redhead. You get a limited palette, and you gotta maximize it.

I live my life by the philosophy of statement coat, statement hair, and neutral outfit.
Joel - Designer
Wears The Shearling Aviator in Black

My fall caffeine order is a hot matcha latte…but my favorite cocktail is probably a Hot Toddy.

John Brodie - Editor In Chief
Wears The Herringbone Cafe Jacket in Light Brown

My coat icons are Jack Nicholson in a duffle coat in Carnal Knowledge and Liam Gallagher in a snorkel jacket.

If you’re going to be a truly stylish person, it’s important to have an outerwear toolkit. A topcoat for suits; a parka for cold weather. What’s fun is the In-Between... a cashmere chore, a tweed walking jacket. That’s the whole shooting match.
Dana - Planning
Wears The Italian Casentino Driving Jacket in Light Blue

My personal style is lots and lots of color, and whatever’s comfortable. But I like wearing different layers in the fall, different textures you can play around with.

Phillip - Creative Director
Wears The Cashmere Spectator Coat in Cream

When it’s super cold, I like to wear monochromatic outfits, so I would wear this similarly to how I am now — a textured sweater, rougher jeans, a tank top and a big scarf.

My personal style…is subject to change. But, different versions of a uniform: whatever it is, make sure it has enough dimension, commit to it, enjoy it and move on. Find the next thing.
